Sub-Communities
Sub-communities across the Abeka Traditional Area and its historical neighbours, from the founding ancestral core through the N1 commercial corridor to the residential border zones. All documented from court records, family oral history, and the 1966 PRAAD-authenticated High Court judgment.
The Core
The ancestral settlement founded by Nuumo Apiakai (Okyeame Apiakai) and formalised under Nii Boi I.
Abeka Mantse Agboona
The Chief's Palace. Seat of the Abeka Stool where all enstoolments and customary proceedings are conducted. Built on the original Boi Man settlement.
Nii Boi Town
Named after Nii Boi I. One of the most densely populated areas in north-central Accra. Within the 1,100-acre Plan X907 grid.
Nii Boiman
Traditional administrative block. Subject of a 2023 Lands Commission dispute between the Nii Boi Royal Family and the Asere Kotopong Stool. Sub-areas include Bambolino, Ofanko, Asofa, Awoshie.
Commercial & Transport Corridor
The N1 highway strip and market grounds. One of Accra's busiest commercial zones.
Abeka-Lapaz (Lapaz Junction)
Major trotro hub, electronics market, and retail strip on the N1 highway. Tens of thousands pass through daily.
Abeka Market Area
Central wholesale and retail market. Hub for foodstuffs, household goods, and trade serving the entire municipality.
Fadama Junction / New Fadama
Grew from the Fadama farming basin under Nii Boi II. Borders the Zongo community, originally established by Mallam Omoro with the Asere Mantse's permission (1966 judgment).
Residential & Border Areas
Settled residential enclaves and boundary zones at the edges of the Abeka Traditional Area.
Free Pipe
Historic residential enclave in Old Abeka. Named after one of the first piped water points in the area.
Abeka Post Office Area
Administrative sector with early schools and public amenities. Land referenced in Rockson v. Agadzi [1987].
Abeka-Israel Border
Western residential grid bordering Chantan and Darkuman. Location of Anne's Preparatory School, contested in Rockson v. Agadzi [1987].
Abeka-Akweteyman Border
Eastern frontier toward the Nsawam Road axis where Abeka meets Akweteyman.
Race Course / Abeka Pipeline
Transit and residential strips connecting the N1 to the inner residential blocks.

Darkoman (Akramahman)
Founded by Emmanuel Darko Dimson under the authority of Nii Akramah. Originally farmland that became fallow after the WWII occupation. Borders Abeka and New Fadama.
Bubiashie No. 2
Founded 1912 by Bamule. Forms boundary with Abeka, Odorkor and Kaneshie. Grew to 2,000-3,000 houses when the railway came through.
Odorkor
Originally "Odankor." Name changed when the railway was constructed through the village. All land under the Asere Stool.
Ayawaso
Founded by Nii Okaikoi. Land belongs to Aseremantse Nii Akramah. Borders Asofa and Ofankor, all Asere lands.
Pokoase
Founded over 400 years ago by Nii Ayikushi. Belongs to the Asere people. Borders Otublohum, Ayawaso and Gyaman.
Ofankor
Founded by Nii Korle from Asere. Railway passes through. Stone quarries near the valley. Homowo procession route.
